Synthesis and docking studies of norepinephrine transporter (NET) selective ligands
This research investigated novel norepinephrine transporter (NET)-selective ligands as potential therapeutic agents for neurological disorders. Three N-phenylbenzofuran-2-carboxamide compounds—KSCM-4, KSCM-9, and KSCM-10—were synthesized and demonstrated strong selectivity for human NET, with molecular docking in virtual reality supporting the binding results. Cytotoxicity studies in human neuroblastoma cells showed that all three compounds were well tolerated at concentrations up to 10 µM, while KSCM-9 exhibited the lowest toxicity even at substantially higher concentrations. These findings support the compounds’ potential for further cellular and pharmacological investigation.

Into Space...........Look into Space and it Looks Right Back
Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed that one day I would launch a research experiment funded by NASA into Space...... in a Dragon Capsule onboard the SpaceX 3 Falcon 9 Rocket in April2014! But that is exactly what happened, and what an incredible experience. Great teamwork....Great adventure....Amazing students!
